Well, I seem to have the cancer under control. Now I have to deal with the stress of AFLAC (remember the guys who told me originally I had NO cancer insurance?) Now they are denying my latest claim and paying it as a "wellness benefit." They even went so far as to write on the back "If you have previously been diagnosed with cancer, please submit documentation." What the hell? Did they not look at my records?? So I called them, got about halfway through the connversation after being on hold twice and I was promptly disconnected. So I had to call back and be put on hold by their computer AGAIN. After six minutes I gave up. I'll write them a damn letter. They won't like it. Tough. They make their policy so damn difficult to read and understand it's a wonder anyone ever gets a dime from them. They even sent me a letter in response to my request to waive my premiums on my cancer policy, a benefit built in. They wanted documentation of my disability. I've been on state disability since I was first hospitalized last August! They KNOW I have cancer. I sent them their OWN form, signed by and filled out by my oncologist. Damn. Just when you think you have a handle on things and can concentrate on beating the illness, another fire starts somewhere. Stress does NOT help people fight cancer. It only makes it worse. That damn duck is not all it's quacked up to be folks. Love yas.
