You can't make this stuff up.
The surgeon's office called back and wanted copies of the slides and pathologist report from my colonoscopy. I told the girl I had them and was sending them and that he should have already been faxed the report (which I had not even looked at.) No, she says he needs the originals. I tell her I am sending the actual SLIDES with the tissue samples and a copy of the report. So the doc get on the phone and asks if I have the original slides and report - FROM AUGUST. Long story short he says the latest pathology report from my colonoscopy on 2/22 doesn't say anything about CANCER. I say that's strange. He tells me he needs something that actually says I have been diagnosed with cancer before he can do surgery. So I tell him I'll get try to get the slides and report from August and send them. Now I'm curious, so I read the latest pathology report and the last item under "Biopsy of rectal mass" says
"C. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF ATYPIA OR MALIGNANCY."
Now I'm no doctor, but I know what the word malignancy means. Needless to say I am NOT having surgery on Wednesday and somebody has some splainin' to do before I have surgery. I sure as hell am not having cancer surgery if they now can't FIND the cancer where it was supposed to be. The surgeon could not give me an adequate explanation as to why there was what I consider a bit of a discrepancy. He said "Well maybe they missed it." Well I only have ONE ASS and it's the one they scoped, they knew what they were looking for and where, so how could they MISS it????????? Until somebody can sit down with me and give me a plausible explanation, no one is cutting me open - PERIOD! Stay tuned...
