REFLEXOLOGY IS A NATURAL HEALING ART!

*Things to do before you start Reflexology. Below are the Reflexology Basics to get you &/or your partner relaxed.  Always start with the basics.  These tips are for self Reflexology, but can be used on a loved one.  The person receiving and giving the Reflexology should be comfortable and relaxed. Always drink plenty of water before and after you receive Reflexology, this helps to flush out any toxins you may have in your body.  Always start with the relaxation tips below.*

Remember to treat each other to Reflexology so everyone's Body & Soul is Relaxed, Renewed & Rejuvenated!

Allergies:

This year's "allergy season" has started with a vengeance.  Here are a few Reflexology tips to help relieve your symptoms as well as stimulate your immune system. Reflexology also stimulates your lymph system.

To relax your fingers and toes; rotate each finger, thumb and toe, 3x clockwise and 3x counterclockwise.

*Always start with your left hand, or left foot if only doing foot Reflexology.  After going through all the steps below on your left hand, continue with your right hand, then on to your left foot and finish with your right foot. You can do the hand Reflexology anywhere, sitting or standing.  Next time you need to relax, start using the techniques below on your hands, and you'll be relaxed before they call your number at the DMV.

The next time someone you know and love is upset or stressed out, try using the loving touch of your hand.  Just simply taking someone's hand between your 2 hands has a calming and relaxing effect.  Remember to always use a gentle loving touch.  You can always work up to a firm touch.

The tips of our fingers and toes are the reflex points for the sinus area. Gently squeezing the tips of your fingers and toes will stimulate your sinus area, and may cause your sinus' to drain. Which is a good thing, this means the yukies in your sinus' is moving out.

To do this: gently squeeze the tips of each finger/toe for a count of 3, and squeeze each one 3 times. Use this gentle squeezing technique as you move down your fingers/toes. Making sure to apply gentle pressure all the way around your fingers/toes from the tip to the base where they connect to your hand/foot.

You will use the same technique for each area, unless stated otherwise. Gently squeeze 3x, holding each gentle squeeze for 3 seconds.

To work your eyes gently squeeze the skin between your first 2 fingers (pointer & middle) & first 2 toes. To stimulate your ears gently squeeze the skin between the last 2 fingers (ring & pinky) & last 2 toes.
Remember your thumb and big toe. The pad of your thumb and big toe is where your Brain, Pituitary and Pineal Glands are located. As you move down your big toe or thumb you stimulate your mental nerves & head nerves. All affected by allergies and colds and flu. Around your thumb and big toe where they connect to the hand/foot, is your thyroid (on big toe), neck, throat reflex, you can also stimulate your throat reflex by gently squeezing the skin where your thumb connects to your hand on the thumb side. On your hands the thyroid reflex is just under the area where the thumb attaches to the hand.

To stimulate your bronchial reflex, massage the area that runs from between the big toe and the next toe, and down to the inside of the foot.

Now massage or use gentle squeezing to the ball of your foot and pad of your hand, just below where the fingers and toes connect. This is the lung, thymus, diaphragm, solar plexus. On the left it is also where your heart reflex is located.
I know it sounds complicated, and it would be more beneficial and relaxing to see a Reflexologist.
But when you can't, you can use these techniques on your fingers anytime, like when you're watching TV, or sitting on the train.

Reflexology will NOT hurt you (unless you use too much pressure on your feet or hands), and will stimulate your circulation, blood flow, lymph system, immune system and organ functions.

Now for some new techniques to help you keep your body balanced:

Reflexology and Child Birth.+

Despite what you might read, pregnant women can benefit from reflexology treatments. Begin the treatments at the end of the third month right until birth. Once or twice a month is the recommended rate but if you love it, you can have weekly sessions.   If you can't go to a Reflexologist, then try these self Reflexology tips.  Since SELF Reflexology maybe difficult during pregnancy you will need to have a Loved one do this for you.  What a great way to bond your new family together.  Be sure that whoever does your Reflexology only applies gentle pressure especially on tender areas. Of course working all the reflexes is beneficial, but the specific areas listed for each month will address what most women experience during those months. IE: 18-22 weeks: Back pain, 28-31 Bloating.

SPECIAL NOTE: DO NOT stimulate the Reproductive Reflexes until Labor begins.  Over stimulating these reflexes MAY bring on Labor.  The Reproductive reflexes are located on either side of the foot just below the ankle bone, on both the inside and outside of foot.

Weeks 13-17: Gently work all the reflexes paying special attention to the  following reflex areas, Thyroid, Adrenal, Pancreas, Lymphatic system, Kidneys.

Weeks 18-22: Gently work all the reflexes paying special attention to the Spine and Sciatic reflexes.

Weeks 23-27:  Gently work all the reflexes paying special attention to the Thyroid, Pancreas, Intestines.

Weeks 28-31:  Gently work all reflex areas paying special attention to the Lymphatic, Sciatic, Heart, Intestines, Pancreas, Kidney, Bladder.

Weeks 32-36: Continue working all the reflex area paying special attention to the Diaphragm, Pancreas and Spine.

Weeks 37-40:  Continue gently working all the reflex areas paying special attention to the Lymphatic system, this should help with the swelling associated with the final weeks of Pregnancy.

Here are some specific reflex areas to concentrate on to help relieve Labor symptoms: Pelvic area, Breast and Reproductive.

Now relax, your having a Baby!!  Happy Birthing!

Acid reflux

Try massaging the entire fleshy area between the thumb and forefinger. This helps to return the healing energy to the stomach area and help return things to normal. Also gently apply pressure to the palm of your hands and the soles of your feet. After you apply gentle pressure on the soles of your feet and palms of your hands you may experience belching, this is natural as you body expels any built up pressure (gas). A little light squeezing around the base of both of your big toes will help stimulate the neck and throat area. Also gently squeeze the fleshy part of both your big toes using your thumbs and index finger.

Arthritis

Stimulate the Adrenal reflex to release natural cortisone and relieve arthritis symptoms. Thumb walk up and down the instep/inside of both feet, from just above the heel to just below the big toe. Apply gentle pressure as you move up and down. This will also stimulate your spine, pancreas, duodenum, bladder, stomach, small intestines, and more.

You can use the techniques above on someone else or yourself, even infants and children.

Treat a loved one to relaxing foot Reflexology.  Or better yet treat each other to a little foot Reflexology.          Sit facing each other on the sofa.  Make sure you are both sitting in a comfortable position, and can comfortably and easily reach each other's feet. Now follow the instructions above.                                                                                                                                                           Relax, Renew and Rejuvenate with Reflexology and Chocolate!

Always drink plenty of water before, during and after any Reflexology treatment.  This will help flush out any toxins you may have in your body.

Happy Reflexology!

*Reflexology is safe and can be practiced on almost anyone.  Reflexology is not meant to replace regular visits to a physician.  If you feel you have a health issue, please consult a physician.                                     + Remember to always talk to your Primary Care Provider before starting Reflexology.  Remind them that it will not harm you or the baby.

**$25.00 is a special limited time offer.

PLEASE NOTE:  Some Reflex areas may differ slightly from chart to chart.  Remember the reflex areas sometimes appear to be on top of each other, that's because that's the way the actual organs are in our bodies.  During pregnancy some organs may change position to make room for the baby.  If you every have any questions please email me @ reflexology@thehennessygroup.net  Never use anything but a light touch when doing Reflexology and NEVER over work a "sore" area.
